I will be a Wonderful Mother!

There are women that become mothers without effort, without thought, without patience or loss and though they are good mothers and love their children, I know that I will be better.

I will be better not because of genetics, or money or that I have read more books,

but because I have struggled and toiled for this child.

I have longed and waited. I have cried and prayed.

I have endured and planned over and over again.

Like most things in life, the people who truly have appreciation are those who have struggled to attain their dreams.

I will notice everything about my child.

I will take time to watch my child sleep, explore and discover. I will marvel at this miracle every day for the rest of my life.

I will be happy when I wake in the middle of the night to the sound of my child, knowing that I can comfort, hold and feed him and that I am not waking to take another temperature, pop another pill, take another shot or cry tears of a broken dream. My dream will be crying for me.

I count myself lucky in this sense; that God has given me this insight, this special vision with which I will look upon my child that my friends will not see.

Whether I parent a child I actually give birth to or a child that God leads me to, I will not be careless with my love.

I will be a better mother for all that I have endured. I am a better wife, a better aunt, a better daughter, neighbor, friend and sister because I have known pain.

I know disillusionment as I have been betrayed by my own body, I have been tried by fire and hell many never face, yet given time, I stood tall.

I have prevailed.

I have succeeded.

I have won.

So now, when others hurt around me, I do not run from their pain in order to save myself discomfort. I see it, mourn it, and join them in theirs.

I listen.

And even though I cannot make it better, I can make it less lonely. I have learned the immerse power of another hand holding tight to mine, of other eyes that moisten as they learn to accept the harsh truth and when life is beyond hard. I have learned a compassion that only comes with walking in those shoes.

I have learned to appreciate life.

Yes I will be a wonderful mother.

Remembering...

"An angel in the book of life wrote down my baby's birth.
Then whispered as she closed the book "too beautiful for earth".
~author unknown

As Long As I Live You Will Live
As Long As I Live You Will Be Remembered
As Long As I Live You Will Be Loved...Author unknown

"If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again."

How very softly
you tiptoed into my world.
Almost silently;
Only a moment you stayed.
But what an imprint
Your footprints have left
On our hearts.
--Author Unknown

"To Remember Is Painful
To Forget Is Impossible."
~Maureen Connelly

"Now I lay you down to sleep,
I pray the Lord your soul to keep;
Within his arms he'll hold you tight,
My Heavenly Angel, My Guiding Light."

"There is no foot so small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world"

"The mention of my child's name may bring tears to my eyes, but it never fails to bring music to my ears. If you are really my friend, let me hear the beautiful music of his name. It soothes my broken heart and sings to my soul."

"An Angel in the book of life wrote down our babies birth, and whispered as she close the book....."Too beautiful for earth."

"Some say you are too painful to remember, I say you are too PRECIOUS to forget!"

Little footprints
How very softly you tiptoed into our world, almost silently, only a moment you stayed. But what an imprint you footsteps have left upon our hearts. -- Dorothy Ferguson

"Our hearts still ache with sadness, And Secret tears still flow, Was it meant to lose you, No one can ever know." author unknown

A moment in our arms...a lifetime in our hearts.

"A family is a circle of love, not broken by a loss, but made stronger by the memories. We remember."

The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched, but are felt in the heart. *Helen Keller*

"Babies Name"
i put your name in the sand.
but the waves washed it away.
i put your name on my hand.
but i washed it away the next day.
i put your name on paper.
but i accidentally threw it away.
i put your name in my heart and forever it will stay
`

we do not remember days, we remember moments.`

Sometimes love is for a moment.
Sometimes love is for a lifetime.
Sometimes a moment is a lifetime.

"What we have once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Helen Keller

“We have suffered, but we have survived;
We are hurting, but we are enduring.” -Ben Van Vechten

"They gave so much to be so little, but Angels always do..."

"Dear Lord, I would have loved to have held my babies on my lap and tell them about you, but since I didn't get the chance, would you please hold them on your lap and tell them about me?"

"Loved with a love beyond telling,
Missed with a grief beyond all tears."

"A Life may last for just a moment....
but memory can make that moment last forever..."

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away. "

"Gone yet not forgetten,
although we are apart,
your spirit lives within me,
forever in my heart."

(Collection of short phrases)
AN ANGEL VISITED THE GREEN EARTH, AND TOOK A FLOWER AWAY

OUR LITTLE ANGEL

A LITTLE SOUL TAKES WINGS

ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS

BUDDED ON EARTH TO BLOOM IN HEAVEN

LORD WE GIVE YOU OUR LITTLEST ANGEL

OURS FOR A LITTLE WHILE, WITH JESUS FOREVER

PRECIOUS MEMORIES OF A LITTLE ANGEL

REMEMBERING A TINY ANGEL

SAFE IN THE ARMS OF JESUS

SLEEP MY LITTLE ONE, SLEEP

SO LITTLE, YET SO LOVED

SO SMALL, SO SWEET, SO SOON

WE WILL LOVE YOU ALWAYS

In perfect peace

That the heart has once owned and had, It shall never lose......

A family is a circle of love, not broken by a loss, but made stronger by the memories.

The one who put gentle footprints on our hearts leaves a story worth telling

God has given us memories, that we might have roses in December

Each new life... No matter how fragile or brief... Forever changes the world.

"These are my footprints,
so perfect and so small.
These tiny footprints
never touched the ground at all.
Not one tiny footprint,
for now I have wings.
These tiny footprints were meant
for other things.
You will hear my tiny footprints,
in the patter of the rain.
Gentle drops like angel's tears,
of joy and not from pain.
You will see my tiny footprints,
in each butterflies' lazy dance.
I'll let you know I'm with you,
if you just give me the chance.
You will see my tiny footprints,
in the rustle of the leaves.
I will whisper names into the wind,
and call each one that grieves.
Most of all, these tiny footprints,
are found on Mommy and Daddy's hearts.
'Cause even though I'm gone now,
We'll never truly part."

"They say that time in heaven is compared to 'the blink of an eye' for us on this earth. Sometimes it helps me to think of my child running ahead of me through a beautiful field of wildflowers and butterflies; so happy and completely caught up in what she is doing that when she looks behind her, I'll already be there."

"I know I'll see the sun shine bright
upon my baby's face....
When I finally get to heaven,
all my pain will be erased.

We'll soar the skies together,
as angels two by two.
We'll have a sweet reunion,
this mother's dream come true!"

Blessings

Bless You Precious Girl
May you be gentle but strong,

humble but confident,
and innocent yet wise in all you do.
May your beauty be rooted deeply

within finding strength in your
character, your compassion, and your courage.
May you always know that you are valued

and prized with a love that provides your needs,
 satisfies your desires,builds your character,
and prizes your purity.
May you follow the hand of God every day of your life.

BlessYou Mother
May you see the results of your prayers.
May your children bring delight to all your days.
May the warming love of your family and the boundless
love of God surround you each day.
May God grant you the desires of your heart as you
delight yourself in Him.

This baby is your blessing,
I wish happiness in every way,
Good luck God bless,
I say
And many blessings and wishes,
To welcome baby into your life today

Ten fingers, ten toes
She's laughter and teardrops
So small and brand new
And amazingly angelic

She's sent to bless you
She's one special Baby
The best of life's treasure
And will grant and bless you
Many hours of great pleasure.

Take a sprinkling of fairy dust,
An angel's single feather,
Also a dash of love and care,
Then mix them both together.
Add a sentiment or two,
A thoughtful wish or line,
A touch of stardust, a sunshine ray...
It's a recipe, for a Baby Girl truly fine.

Welcome Baby to our world
how brave of you to come.
We are here to welcome you
as your journeys just begun.
Here's our opportunity
to help each other grow.
To experience all the things,
alone... we would not know.
You have been successful,
from your very start.
Just welcoming you, has made us all
release love from our hearts.
So remember little Baby
as you grow into your dreams.
Everything in this world
is not always what it seems.
Welcome others into your world
and it is there, that you will find.
All the love you ever knew
was never left behind.

My Baby Girl
My Baby Girl

she makes me dance and twirl.
Beautiful as can be
lucky, lucky me.
All of God's grace
in her sweet little face.
Even tho' I pray
little she won't stay.
Please don't grow so fast
let these precious moments last.
Tea parties, dolls, and bows
soon she'll run the show.
Growing up in a whirl
My Precious Baby Girl!

Mommy's Heart
You little one are mommy's heart
I knew it right from the start
the way you hold my finger tight,
when we're alone late at night.
When I cradle you in my arms
you smile and show all your charms.
Then you drift off to sleep
sometimes I can’t help but weep,
how lucky I have become
to actually be the chosen one.
To have and hold a child like you
now life seems to good to be true.
So I look up at the sky so blue
and thank the heavens for giving me you!

Daddy's Pride
You little one are daddy's pride,
the joy you bring I cannot hide.
Ten little fingers and ten little toes,
your beautiful eyes and button nose.
How could I... even dream
what having you would really mean.
I do wish I would've known,
that you are really a gift on loan.
Tho', I could not have prepared,
for the gift of love, that God has shared.
I will always do my best,
God believes, I'll pass this test
and I will know I have succeeded
when you're a parent, and there when needed.

Don't Tell Me

Don't Tell Me

Please don't tell me you know how I feel,
Unless you have lost your child too,
Please don't tell me my broken heart will heal,
Because that is just not true,
Please don't tell me my son is in a better place,
Though it is true, I want him here with me,
Don't tell me someday I'll hear his voice, see his face,
Beyond today I cannot see,
Don't tell me it is time to move on,
Because I cannot,
Don't tell me to face the fact he is gone,
Because denial is something I can't stop,
Don't tell me to be thankful for the time I had,
Because I wanted more,
Don't tell me when I am my old self you will be glad,
I'll never be as I was before,
What you can tell me is you will be here for me,
That you will listen when I talk of my child,
You can share with me my precious memories,
You can even cry with me for a while,
And please don't hesitate to say his name,
Because it is something I long to hear everyday,
Friend please realize that I can never be the same,
But if you stand by me, you may like the new person I become someday.

Rainbow Babies

"Rainbow Babies" are the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it does not mean that the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and the clouds. Storm clouds may still loom over but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy, and much needed hope.

Excerpts...

Untitled
Excerpts from Francis Thompson and William Blake

Know you what it is to be a child? ...

It is to have a spirit yet streaming from the waters of baptism;
it is to believe in love, to believe in loveliness, to believe in belief;
it is to be so little that the elves can reach to whisper in your ear;
it is to turn pumpkins into coaches, and mice into horses, lowness into loftiness,
and nothing into everything, - for each child has a fairy god-mother in his/her own soul;
it is to live in a nutshell and count yourself the king/queen of  infinite space; it is:

To see the World in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Every Person Born into This World
From a passage by Martin Buber (adaptation)

Every person born into this world represents something new, something that never existed
before, something original and unique. It is the duty of every person in Israel to know and
consider that he is unique in the world in his particular character, and that there has never
been someone like him before. For if there had been someone like him before, there would be
no need for him to be in the world. Every single person is a new thing in the world and is
called upon to fulfill his particularity in the world.

Jewish Blessing
In every birth, blessed is the wonder.
In every creation, blessed is the new beginning.
In every child, blessed is life.
In every hope, blessed is the potential.
In every transition, blessed is the beginning.
In every existence, blessed are the possibilities.
In every love, blessed are the tears.
In every life, blessed is the love.
There are three names by which a person is called:
One which her father and mother call her,
And one which people call her,
And one which she earns for herself.
The best one of these is the one that she earns for herself.’

Irish Baby Blessing
May all the blessings of our Lord touch your life today.
May He send His little angels to protect you on your way.
Such a miraculous gift, sent from above.
Someone so precious to cherish and love.
May sunshine and moonbeams dance over your head.
As you quietly slumber in your bed.
May good luck be with you wherever you go.
And your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow.

Baby's Way

Baby's Way
by Rabindranath Tagore (Hindu Poet)

If Baby only wanted to, he could fly up to heaven this moment.
It is not for nothing that he does not leave us.
He loves to rest his head on mother's bosom,
and cannot ever bare to lose sight of her.
Baby knows all manner of wise words,
though few on earth can understand their meaning.
It is not for nothing that he never wants to speak.
The one thing he wants is to learn mother's words from mother's lips.
That is why he looks so innocent.
Baby had a heap of gold and pearls,
yet he came like a beggar on to this earth.
It is not for nothing he came in such a disguise.
This dear little naked mendicant pretends to be utterly helpless,
so that he may beg for mother's wealth of love.
Baby was so free from every tie in the land of the tiny crescent moon.
It was not for nothing he gave up his freedom.
He knows that there is room for endless joy in mother's little corner of a heart,
and it is sweeter far than liberty to be caught and pressed in her dear arms.
Baby never knew how to cry.
He dwelt in the land of perfect bliss.
It is not for nothing he has chosen to shed tears.
Though with the smile of his dear face he draws mother's yearning heart to him,
yet his little cries over tiny troubles weave the double bond of pity and love.
